The much-awaited Mahindra XUV700 7-seater SUV is most likely to make global debut on August 15, 2021. It is expected to be launched on October 2, 2021. This is the same pattern that Mahindra followed to launch the new-gen Mahindra Thar lifestyle SUV. The SUV will replace the ageing the XUV500, which will return as the 5-seater SUV to rival the Hyundai Creta and the Kia Seltos.
The Mahindra XUV700 has been spotted testing numerous times, and this time the interior of the SUV has been clicked. The clearest interior picture confirms that the new XUV700 has an all-new feature-loaded and premium cabin compared to the existing XUV500. Mahindra has already released multiple advanced tech features of the XUV700 via a series of teaser videos.
The spotted model appears to be the mid-level variant, offered with manual gearbox unit. It comes with a new multi-functional steering, which is wrapped in leather. There are loads of buttons mounted on the steering wheel. Also visible is the striking twin floating screens integrated into a single large horizontally stacked screen. The one screen will act as a fully-digital instrument console, while the other unit will act as a touchscreen display for the infotainment system.
The dashboard design, fit and finish and plastic quality appears to have drastically improved over the XUV500. The AC vents are positioned below the infotainment system, and the switchgears are positioned further below it. The Mahindra XUV700 will come equipped with high-end features such as dual-zone climate control, wireless charging support, electronic parking brake with auto hold, etc.
Mahindra has officially revealed 5 cool features of the new XUV700, which includes Smart Door Handles, Auto Booster Headlamps, Pearsonalised Safety Alert System, driver drowsiness detection and the Segment-Largest Panoramic Sunroof. This also confirms that the Mahindra XUV700 will be the first model in its segment to offer Level 1 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) with features like adaptive cruise control, blind spot detection, autonomous braking and lane keep assist.
The new XUV700 will be offered with two engine options – a 2.0L mStallion turbocharged petrol and a 2.2L turbocharged diesel. While the former can produce up to 188bhp and 380Nm, the oil burner is likely to offer around 185bhp of power. Transmission choices will include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque convertor automatic. The SUV could also receive a mild hybrid system.
