Mahindra To Unveil Electric Compact SUV, Mid-Size SUV & An SUV Coupe In August

The homegrown UV Maker, Mahindra has announced to launch 2 new electric SUVs – the eKUV100 and the XUV400 (eXUV300) before the end of this financial year. Adding to it, the company will reveal its first ever born-electric concepts on August 15, 2022. Mahindra is following this trend of introducing new products around Independence Day. In 2020, Mahindra introduced the new Thar on August 15. Last year, the new XUV700 was introduced on August 14, 2021.

The new models will be revealed at Mahindra’s new design studio in Oxfordshire, United Kingdom. These concepts are designed by the new UK based design studio.

Mahindra Electric SUVs teased

Details about the new concepts are yet to be revealed. The teaser images suggest that Mahindra could reveal a compact SUV, a mid-sized SUV and an SUV Coupe. These models will be based on the Born Electric platform and won’t receive ICE models in the future. The platform is specifically developed for electric vehicles, and the new SUVs will be the brand-new models.

The teaser images reveal that the new concepts feature uniquely designed C-shaped LED signatures at the front and rear. The interior teaser shows dual-screen setup for instrument panel and infotainment system. There is a rotary dial placed in the centre console.

The SUV Coupe concept is reportedly preview the design of the rumoured XUV900 Coupe SUV, which is expected to be launched by 2025-26. The mid-sized SUV is likely to measure around 4.5 meters and will sit alongside the XUV700. The small SUV concept is likely to preview the brand’s all-new compact electric SUV.

Mahindra is also expected to showcase these concepts at the Auto Expo 2023 in January. The company is also in talks with Volkswagen Group and could use the VW’s MEB platform to develop its future Born Electric SUVs.

Besides EV concepts, Mahindra will launch the all-new Scorpio-N in the country on June 27, 2022. The company will also introduce the 9-seater Bolero Neo Plus in the next few months. The eKUV100 is scheduled to be launched during festive season, while the updated XUV300 and the XUV400 EV will launch in the first quarter of 2023.
