Rajesh Jejurikar, Executive Director and Chief Executive (Automotive & Farm Equipment) at M&M, stated that the company is actively developing a range of new products tailored for global markets, focusing on offering affordable pricing. Mahindra believes that its products are now technologically advanced and modern enough to compete effectively on the global stage.

One of Mahindra’s successful international markets is South Africa, where it operates an assembly facility. The product lineup in South Africa includes the XUV300 subcompact SUV, XUV700 SUV, Scorpio N, as well as pickup trucks and commercial vehicles. Currently, Mahindra exports its models to 30 countries across Africa, South Asia, the Middle East, New Zealand, and Australia. The company also has operations in some left-hand drive (LHD) markets in Latin America. Looking ahead, Mahindra is planning to enter the European market with its Born Electric range, which is expected to debut by the end of 2024.

Earlier this year, Mahindra revealed its Born Electric SUVs under the BE (BE.05, BE.07, and BE.09) and XUV.e (XUV.e8 and XUV.e9) sub-brands. These electric vehicles (EVs) will be built on Mahindra’s modular INGLO platform and will incorporate components from the Volkswagen MEB architecture. The Mahindra XUV.e8, essentially the electric version of the XUV700, will be the first production-ready model to be launched.

Mahindra BE.05 Launch

All upcoming Mahindra electric SUVs will feature battery capacities ranging from 60 to 80 kWh and support 175 kW fast charging, enabling rapid charging from 0 to 80 percent in less than 30 minutes. These EVs will also come equipped with advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), 3D in-car audio system and other modern technologies, further bolstering Mahindra’s global ambitions in the EV segment.
