Mahindra Scorpio Classic – Updated Suspension, Bigger Info Unit

Mahindra & Mahindra has already announced prices of the all-new Scorpio-N that fall in range of Rs 11.99 lakh – Rs 23.9 lakh (all, ex-showroom). Though, deliveries of the SUV will begin in September 2022. Ahead of it, the carmaker will introduce the updated Mahindra Scorpio Classic that’s started arriving at dealerships across the country. It will be sold alongside the new Scorpio N. Here’re key details we know so far about the upcoming Scorpio Classic SUV.

The SUV model lineup will be offered in S3+ and S11 variants and 7 and 9-seats configurations.

Engine setup of the new Mahindra Scorpio Classic will remain intact. That means, it will use the 2.2L, 4-cylinder turbo diesel engine that does duty in the previous generation Scorpio. The oil burner returns a claimed power of 132bhp and 300Nm of torque. It can be had with RWD (rear-wheel drive) system.

According to a fresh media report, the suspension setup of the SUV will be re-tuned. That means, we can expect it to have better top-heavy handling and reduced body roll.

New Mahindra Scorpio Classic Infotainment

Inside, the major update will be the larger touchscreen infotainment system supporting latest smartphone connectivity. One must that the info unit will be available on higher trims only.

While the HVAC controls are exactly similar to the old model, it has the touch sensitive control placed on the left side of display replacing the conventional physical buttons.

Features such as dashboard with piano-black finish inserts and dark finish wooden inserts in centra console further distinguish it from the old model. It continues to offer the same steering unit, while its manual gear lever knob seems inspired by the XUV700.

Design and styling of the new Mahindra Scorpio Classic looks slightly improved than before. It features a newly-designed front grille in black and chrome finish, Mahindra’s new logo, a faux skid plate and new dual-tone 17-inch alloy wheels.
