Mahindra Silently Deletes Features From XUV700 SUV – Details

Mahindra had launched the XUV700 mid-sized SUV in the country in 2021. The new Mahindra XUV700 has received an overwhelming response from car buyers. The company has received over 1.5 lakh orders for the new model. Close to 1 lakh customers are still waiting for the delivery of their cars. The SUV currently commands a waiting period of close to 2 years.

Mahindra is currently facing supply chain constraints along with shortage of semiconductor chips. The homegrown automaker has also made some changes to the feature list of the XUV700. Mahindra has removed several features starting from the entry-level MX variant to the top-spec AX7 L.

The company has removed the rear parking sensors, height adjustable driver seat, follow-me-home headlamps and rear spoiler from the entry-level MX variants. The Mahindra XUV700 AX3 variants are no longer offered with the rear wiper and defogger, and selective unlock for the doors and boot lid.

The AX5 and AX7 trims are now devoid of LED sequential turn indicators. The top-spec AX7 L Manual version misses out on the adaptive cruise control features. It now comes with normal cruise control, while the Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go function is available only on the top-spec AX7 L Automatic trim. The AX7 L variant also comes equipped with LED sequential turn indicators.

Mahindra XUV700 Details

The new mid-sized SUV is available in two trims – MX and AX. The former is offered with 5-seat layout, while the AX trim is available in 5 and 7-seat layout. The top-spec AX7 automatic trim also gets an optional Luxury pack, which offers additional features like a 360 degree camera, wireless phone charging, electrically deployable door handles, an electronic parking brake and blind spot monitor.

The new Mahindra XUV700 is being offered with two engine options – a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol and a 2.2-litre turbo-diesel. Transmission choices include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque convertor automatic. The gasoline engine churns out a maximum power output of 200bhp and a peak torque of 380Nm. The diesel powertrain offers two states of tunes – 155bhp and 360Nm, and 185bhp and 420Nm. With automatic gearbox, the torque output increases to 450Nm. The AX diesel models offer 4 drive modes – Zip, Zap, Zoom and Custom.
