All-new Land Rover Defender has finally been launched in the country. The SUV has been offered in two body styles – 90 (3-door) and 110 (5-door) and five trims – Base, S, SE, HSE and First Edition. Prices of the Defender 90 start from Rs 73.98 lakh and go all the way up to Rs 84.63 lakh.
The Defender 110 can be had within the price range of Rs 79.94 lakh – Rs 90.46 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom. Deliveries of the Defender 90 will be commenced in April-June, 2021.

Under the hood, the new Land Rover SUV features a 2.0L, 4-cylinder turbo petrol motor paired to an 8-speed automatic gearbox. The Ingenium family engine makes a claimed power of 300bhp and 400Nm of torque. While its 3-door version accelerates 0 to 100kmph in 8.0 seconds, the 5-door model can do the same in 8.1 seconds. The Defender comes with a permanent 4WD (four-wheel-drive) system with a locking centre differential and active rear locking differential. It also gets Land Rover’s Terrain Response System.
In terms of features, the Land Rover Defender is a loaded off-road machine. Features such as a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 360-degree surround camera, a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a Meridian audio system, wireless charging, automatic climate control, 12-way electrically adjustable, heads-up display, heated front seats, connected car tech and LED headlamps are reserved for the top-end First Edition. The SUV has a washable interior, thanks to its grained leather and woven textile seats and rubber flooring.
The overall length and height of the Land Rover Defender 90 stand at 4,583mm, 1,974mm respectively. It sits on a 2,587mm long wheelbase. On the other hand, the Defender 110 is 5,018mm long, 1,967mm tall. The 5-door version has a 3,022mm of wheelbase. Both models are 2,008mm wide and have a maximum wading depth of 900mm. While the Defender 90 comes with 5-seats layout, the 110 version offers 7-seats ( 5+2 ) configuration.
