Kia Motors has recently started taking pre-orders for the Sonet sub-4 meter SUV in India. The SUV has received an excellent response from buyers. In just 24 hours, Kia has recorded 6,523 bookings of the Sonet sub-4 meter SUV. Interested buyers can pre-book the new Kia Sonet online or via official dealerships by paying a token amount of Rs 25,000.
Sits below 4 meters in length, the Kia Sonet directly rivals the Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Ford EcoSport, Maruti Vitara Brezza and the Toyota Urban Cruiser. In terms of proportions, the SUV is 3,995mm long, 1,790mm wide and 1,647mm tall and has a wheelbase of 2,500mm. The SUV has a ground clearance of 211mm, while boot space stands at 392-litres.
It shares the engine options and platform with the Hyundai Venue. The Kia Sonet compact SUV will be offered with 3 engine options – a 118bhp, 1.0-litre 3-cylinder turbo-petrol, a 82bhp, 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated petrol and a 113bhp, 1.5-litre turbo-diesel. Transmission choices will include a 5-speed manual (1.2L NA petrol), a 6-speed manual (1.5L diesel), a 6-speed torque convertor automatic (1.5L diesel), a 6-speed iMT (1.0L petrol) and a 7-speed DCT (1.0L Petrol).
The Kia Sonet sub-4 meter SUV will be offered in 2 trim levels – Tech Line and GT Line. In terms of features, the top-spec model gets ventilated front seats, integrated air purifier with virus protection, 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, UVO connected car technologies, Bose premium sound system with 7 speakers, and 360 degree camera.
For safety and security, the Kia Sonet offers 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Hill-Start Assist Control (HAC), Vehicle Stability Management (VSM), front parking sensors and tire pressure monitoring system. The Kia Sonet compact SUV is scheduled to be launched in September 2020.
