Kia Seltos X-Line Launching Soon In India: Officially Teased

Kia Motors had launched the Seltos SUV in the Indian market in 2019. At the 2020 Auto Expo, the company had showcased the sporty looking Seltos X-Line concept. The concept was equipped with a 175bhp engine, and it was expected that the SUV won’t enter into the production in the Indian market in near future. We reported that Kia could launch the X-Line as a limited edition model for enthusiasts only.

Kia Motors has released a teaser image on its social media handles with a tagline ‘a new species of badass unleashing soon’ along with a title “Project X”. This suggest that the company could likely to introduce the X-Line variant. Kia had showcased the X-Line Trail Attack variant of the Seltos SUV at the 2020 Auto Expo. The concept had aggressive looks along with off-road credentials.

The Kia Seltos X-Line concept showcased at the Auto Expo 2020 was equipped with a two-inch lift kit that makes it look more rugged and sportier from the outside. The regular Seltos is available in front-wheel-drive layout, while the X-Line concept had an electric all-wheel-drive system with a central differential locking system. This system makes it more capable off-roader than the regular Kia Seltos, which is mainly usable for city roads. However, the India-spec Kia Seltos X-Line is most likely to be offered in the front-wheel-drive configuration only.

The concept had off-road spec and bigger size tyres. The alloy wheels were customised for the rough road conditions. The SUV had usable roof rails, and customised paint scheme that has contrasting orange highlights on the bumper, alloy wheels, sides and rear section. The concept had aftermarket bumpers, wheel arch cladding and prominent grille. SELTOS name was embossed on the bonnet of the SUV.
