Kia Seltos, Sonet Prices Increased; Applicable From 1st Sep

Kia India has increased prices of its two highly popular SUVs – Seltos and Sonet – from 1st September 2021. While there is no official word on the same, a leaked document reveals that both models get expensive. The exact amount of price hike, however, is yet to be revealed. The document states that Kia’s regional team will share the trim-wise differential increase with dealers. The South Korean automaker recently added a new top-end variant to the Seltos model lineup – the Kia Seltos X-Line. The new model has been offered with petrol and diesel engines, priced at Rs 17.79 lakh and Rs 18.10 lakh respectively. All prices are ex-showroom. The petrol version uses the 140bhp, 1.4L turbo unit with a 7-speed DCT automatic gearbox and the diesel model comes with 115bhp, 1.5L turbo motor with a 6-speed torque convertor automatic transmission.

The Kia Seltos X-Line is exclusively offered in Matte Graphite colour scheme along with lots of piano black and contrast Sun Orange accents on the exterior. Unlike the regular model, the X-Line comes with bigger, 18-inch alloy wheels sporting a matte graphite finish.  The special badge on tailgate further differentiates it from the standard Seltos. Inside, the new Indigo Pera leatherette upholstery and seats with new honeycomb pattern give it a sporty feel and appeal.

Talking about Kia India’s future plan, the carmaker has already confirmed that its fourth product for India will arrive in early 2022. Reports suggest it could a compact MPV to challenge the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, Mahindra Marazzo and the upcoming Hyundai compact MPV. Codenamed Kia KY, the three-row utility vehicle is likely to underpin the Seltos’ platform and come with the 2.0L naturally aspirated petrol and 1.5L diesel engine options.
