Kia Clavis Interior, Exterior Details – Punch, Exter Fighter

Kia is preparing to introduce its fifth offering in India, set to challenge the dominance of the Tata Punch and Hyundai Exter in the micro SUV segment. Currently undergoing testing and frequently caught on camera, the model which is likely to be named the Kia Clavis, has divulged some key design and interior details. Notably, the Clavis aims to distinguish itself as the first vehicle in its category to feature a panoramic sunroof.

Spy images have unveiled that the micro SUV will not only have a panoramic sunroof but will also incorporate advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) technology. Additionally, the Clavis will offer features such as a 360-degree camera, 12 parking sensors (six in the front and six in the rear), and three-point seatbelts for all three passengers.

New Kia Compact SUV

In an effort to enhance its comfort quotient, Kia plans to equip the mini SUV with a range of features. These include ventilated front seats, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless phone connectivity, rear AC vents, phone charging sockets, a rear armrest for second-row passengers, and a rear single bench-type seat with adjustable headrests for side occupants. The Clavis will also comewith dual-tone leatherette seat upholstery and ventilated function for the front seats. Read: Kia Seltos & Carens Could Get Hybrid Powertrains

From the spy pictures, it’s evident that the forthcoming Kia Clavis will showcase an upright and boxy stance, drawing design inspiration from the global-spec Telluride. Upfront, the micro SUV will feature vertically stacked projector headlamps with integrated LED DRLs, Kia’s signature grille, and a wide lower air dam. Notable design elements include dual-tone alloy wheels, flush-type door handles, vertically positioned L-shaped LED taillamps, a large glass rear, and lower-placed brake lights.

Speculations surrounding the Kia Clavis suggest that it could be offered with the 1.2L, 4-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol and 1.0L turbo petrol engine options. Both manual and automatic gearboxes will be available. Additionally, there’s a possibility that Kia may introduce an electric iteration of the Clavis at a later stage, featuring a battery of around 30-35kWh and an electric motor fitted at the front axle. The estimated range for the electric micro SUV is around 350km to 400km.
