Kia India has released the prices of the new Carens 3-row MPV. Called the “Recreational Vehicle”, the new Kia Carens is available at a starting price of Rs 8.99 lakh which goes up to Rs 16.99 lakh for the top-end variant. The prices are introductory and will be increased in near future.
It was speculated to be priced between Rs 13 lakh and Rs 20 lakh; however, Kia surprised many by pricing the vehicle under 17 lakh. At this price tag, the new Carens will rival the likes of the Maruti Ertiga, Suzuki XL6 and the Mahindra Marazzo.

– The Kia Carens is offered with 3 engine options – a 1.5L NA, 1.5L turbo-diesel and a 1.4L turbo petrol. The NA petrol version is only available with entry-level premium and prestige trims – priced at Rs 8.99 lakh and Rs 9.99 lakh respectively.
– The Carens turbo petrol version with manual gearbox is priced between Rs 10.99 lakh and Rs 16.19 lakh. The turbo petrol automatic is tagged at Rs 14.59 lakh and Rs 16.99 lakh.
– The Carens diesel version is priced between Rs 10.99 lakh and Rs 16.19 lakh. The diesel automatic is only available with the top-spec Luxury Plus variant, which costs Rs 16.99 lakh.
– The Ertiga is only available with 1.5L NA petrol engine with SHVS mild hybrid system. The manual version is priced between Rs 8.12 lakh and Rs 10.14 lakh, while the automatic model is available in the price bracket of Rs 10.12 lakh and Rs 10.85 lakh.
– The Suzuki XL6 is only available in two trim levels – Zeta and Alpha – in manual and automatic avatars. The manual Zeta and Alpha costs Rs 10.14 lakh and Rs 10.82 lakh respectively. The automatic Zeta and Alpha are priced at Rs 11.34 lakh and Rs 12.02 lakh respectively. It is only available with a single 1.5L naturally-aspirated petrol engine.
– The Marazzo is only offered with a 1.5L turbo-diesel engine with a manual gearbox. The MPV is available in 3 variants – M2, M4+ and M6+ – priced at Rs 12.80 lakh, Rs 13.95 lakh and Rs 14.92 lakh respectively.
