Kia Carens MPV Prices To Be Released Today; More Details

The much-awaited Kia Carens 7-seater MPV will be launched in the Indian market today. Bookings for the new MPV have already been commenced, while deliveries are likely to commence in March 2022. In terms of size, the new model will be positioned between the Ertiga and the Innova Crysta. It is estimated to be priced between Rs 13 lakh and Rs 20 lakh.

The new Kia Carens production has already been commenced at its Anantapur based facility in Andhra Pradesh. This manufacturing facility will act as a production hub for the Carens, which will be exported to over 80 countries. The model rides on the segment longest wheelbase of 2,780mm, which is even 30mm longer than the Innova Crysta. The MPV measures 4,540mm in length, 1,800mm in width and 1,700mm in height.

The Kia Carens MPV will come in 5 trim levels – Premium, Prestige, Prestige Plus, Luxury and Luxury Plus. The new model will come in 3 engine options – a 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated petrol, a 1.5-litre turbo-diesel and a 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol. The naturally-aspirated unit produces 113bhp and 144Nm of torque, while the turbo petrol is good for 138bhp and 242Nm of torque.

The turbo-diesel engine is capable of producing 113bhp and 250Nm of torque. A 6-speed manual gearbox driving the power to the front wheels will come as standard. Other transmission options include a 7-speed DCT with 1.4L turbo petrol and a 6-speed torque convertor with 1.5L diesel.

The Kia Carens will come in 8 colour options – Imperial Blue, Moss Brown, Sparkling Silver, Intense Red, Glacier White Pearl, Clear White, Gravity Grey & Aurora Black Pearl. The MPV will also come with multiple dual-tone interior schemes.

The Carens MPV is equipped with several segment-leading features such as a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone connectivity, updated Kia’s UVO connect, a 10.25-inch fully digital instrument console, an 8-speaker Bose sound system, ventilated front seats, 64-colour ambient lighting, etc.

The MPV also offers segment electrically-powered, one-touch tumble down function for the second-row occupants, which makes easier to access third-row seats. For safety and security, the MPV gets 6 airbags, hill start assist, tyre pressure monitoring system, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, all-4 disc brakes and others.
