Jeep Meridian Bookings Open; Deliveries Will Begin In June

Bookings for the upcoming Jeep Meridian 7-seater SUV have been officially commenced in the country. Though, its prices are likely to be revealed in June 2022. Here, it will be positioned against SUVs like MG Gloster, Skoda Kodiaq and Toyota Fortuner. The model lineup will be offered in two variants – Limited and Limited (O) – which are expected to be priced from Rs 30 lakh onwards. Ahead of its market launch, the company has begun its production at its Ranjangoan facility.

Design and styling of the new Jeep three-row SUV is similar to the Compass and the Brazil-spec Commander. It sits on extended wheelbase and has longer rear overhand and bigger doors. Compared to the Compass, the Meridian is 364mm longer, 41mm wider and 42mm taller. Its overall length, width and height stand at 4769mm, 1859mm and 1682mm respectively. Some of its design highlights include the Grand Cherokke-inspired seven-slot grille, slim headlamps and taillamps (connected via a chrome bar).

Jeep Meridian Interior Details

Features such as dual-tone roof and mirror caps, electrically operated tailgate, a dual-pane sunroof, a 10.25-inch fully digital instrument cluster, a 360 degree camera, hill descent control (only for AWD) and Selec Terrain (only for AWD) are reserved for the range-topping Limited (O) variant. The standard kit includes a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with uConnect 5 connected car tech, Alpine 9-speaker audio system, brown leather seats, a dual zone climate control,  wireless charging, traction control system, electronic stability control, electronic parking brake, hill start assist, and tyre pressure monitoring system. The SUV offers manual height adjustable driver seat and its second row seat comes with recline, fold and tumble function. The third row seat has recline and flat fold feature. The second and third row seats have split ratio of 60:40 and 50:50 respectively.

Under the hood, the Jeep Meridian features a 2.0L, 4-cylinder turbocharged Multijet diesel engine sourced from the Compass. The motor makes a maximum power of 170bhp and 350Nm. Both 6-speed manual and 9-speed automatic gearboxes are on offer.
