2021 Honda CBR650R Launch In March; To Get Massive Price Hike

The Japanese two-wheeler maker recently introduced the 2021 Honda CBR650R and CB650R in the Malaysian market. According to a latest media report, the updated CBR650R sports tourer might hit Indian roads next month (March, 2021). The model receives a few noticeable upgrades including the Showa Separate Function Big Piston 41mm USD forks. Powering the bike is a 649cc, inline four-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine meeting the Euro5 emission standards. The motor has remapped ECU (engine control unit) along with the revised intake timing, catalyser and silencer, exhaust pipe and an addition of a crank pulsar. It pushes out a peak power of 95PS at 12,000rpm and 60.1Nm of torque at 8,000rpm. It returns a claimed mileage of 20.4kmpl (WMTC mode) and offers a range of over 300km from the 15.4L fuel tank.

2021 Honda CBR650R Specs

The 2021 Honda CBR650R has a 6-speed gearbox for performing transmission duties. The braking power comes from the dual discs upfront and a single rotor at the rear axles. The sport tourer has also been equipped with dual-channel ABS (anti-lock braking system) and Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC).

Some of its key updates include new side panels, a revised twin-pod headlamp, new LCD siplay and USB charging socket. Buyers will have Matt Gunpowder Black Metallic and Candy Chromosphere Red colour schemes to choose from.

2021 Honda CBR650R Price

Honda is offering a range of accessories with the new Honda CBR650R including tank and seat bag, front mudguard panels, seat cowl, side covers, heated grips, wheel strips, tall screen (clear and smoked) and quick shifter. The overall length, width and height of the bike stand at 2120mm, 750mm and 1150mm respectively. It has a 1450mm of wheelbase and 130mm of ground clearance. Sitting on steel diamond chassis, the 2021 Honda CBR650R offers a seat height of 810mm.

The new CBR650R is expected to witness a significant price hike. At present, the sport tourer comes with a price tag of Rs 7.70 lakh. The updated model might cost around Rs 8.5 lakh – Rs 9 lakh (ex-showroom).
