Jeep H6 7-Seater SUV (Fortuner Rival) New Launch Timeline Revealed

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) will invest US$ 250 million in the Indian market. This announcement will take the brand’s total investment in our market to over US$ 700 million. With the fresh investment, Jeep will launch 4 new SUVs in the country in the next 2 years. The company has also confirmed that the sub-4 meter SUV is under development and will be introduced in the next couple of years.

The long-awaited Jeep’s 7-seater SUV won’t be launched in the country in 2021. Codenamed Jeep H6, the new 7-seater SUV will be launched in the country in early 2022. The 3-row mid-sized SUV will be positioned against the likes of the Ford Endeavour and the Toyota Fortuner.

2022 Jeep Compass Facelift

The new SUV will be based on the FCA’s Small-Wide 4×4 platform, which also underpins the Compass and the Renegade. The platform will be tweaked to accommodate larger body. Adding to it, the wheelbase of the SUV along with the length will be increased significantly to accommodate third row. Jeep engineers are working on making the platform stronger, and the updated platform will be used to develop the next generation Jeep Renegade.

The upcoming Jeep H6 will have a different styling. It won’t be called the Grand Compass, and will carry a unique name. The new model will be longer, wide and taller than the Compass. The spy images reveal that the Jeep H6 has larger doors and overhangs, and wider C-colour along with the flatter trunk lid. The SUV is expected to share styling cues from the Grand Cherokee. Expect new model to feature high-end comfort, convenience and safety features such as panoramic sunroof, ESP, cruise control, full LED auto headlamps, vehicle stability, traction control, hill launch and descent, etc.

Jeep H6 Compass 7 Seater Launch

The Jeep H6 7-seater SUV will use the 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine that powers the Compass. However, the engine will be tuned to produce around 200bhp and over 400Nm of torque. It will have a 9-speed automatic gearbox and 4×4 system. The India-spec model could also receive a turbocharged petrol engine with power output close to 180bhp.

Jeep will soon introduce the Compass facelift in the Indian market. Adding to it, the company is also readying the locally assembled Wrangler and the Cherokee SUVs in India. These SUVs will be launched in 2022 as CKD model. The new sub-4 meter SUV, H6 7-seater SUV and the Wrangler and the Cherokee will be produced at the Ranjangaon facility. Jeep will also export the H6 7-seater SUV to right-hand-drive markets.
