Maruti Suzuki S-Cross, the crossover from the Indo-Japanese carmaker, is reported to enter into its next generation sometime in 2023. As of now, details of the new Maruti S-Cross 2023 are scanty. Codenamed Maruti YFG, the new model is likely to receive comprehensive cosmetic and feature upgrades along with the new diesel engine and a dual-clutch automatic gearbox.

We have reported earlier that the Indo-Japanese carmaker is planning to re-introduce diesel cars in 2021. In fact, the company has already commenced upgrading process at its Manesar based plant in Gurugram.

At present, the Maruti Suzuki S-Cross comes with a BS6-compliant 1.5L, 4-cylinder petrol engine boosted with the SHVS mild hybrid technology. The motor has been tuned for delivering a maximum power of 103bhp and 138Nm of torque. It can be had with either a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 4-speed torque converter automatic. Its SHVS system includes a large batter pack for energy storage, which is produced from braking regeneration system. The stored energy is transmitted to the wheels via integrated starter generator (ISG).

The Maruti S-Cross model lineup is currently available in the price range of Rs 8.39 lakh – Rs 12.39 lakh. There are three automatic variants – Delta, Zeta and Alpha – priced at Rs 10.83 lakh, Rs 11.18 lakh and 12.39 lakh respectively. All prices are ex-showroom, Delhi. The new Maruti S-Cross 2023 will surely witness a noticeable price hike.

The Indo-Japanese carmaker is also working on the new-generation Maruti Vitara Brezza that’s reported to hit roads in the second half of 2022. The compact SUV’s new model will be based on new Toyota’s DNGA platform and is likely to receive Suzuki’s new mild hybrid system and a new diesel engine.
