Jeep Avenger SUV (Creta Fighter) – What We Know So Far

Jeep Avenger recently made its world debut alongside the Recon and Wagoneer S electric SUVs during 4xe Day 2022. It’s the smallest SUV from the American SUV manufacturer and the first model to underpin Stellantis’ STLA small architecture. The Avenger will be first launched in the European market, where its bookings have already been commenced. Its deliveries are likely to begin in the first half of 2023. As of now, there is no clarity whether it will come to India or not. Currently, Jeep India is gearing up to launch the new Grand Cherokee on 11th November, 2022.

Under the hood, the Jeep Avenger will employ a 1.2L turbocharged petrol engine delivering a maximum power of 100bhp. It’s the same motor that does duty in the Citroen C3, but offers 110bhp. The SUV will use a manual gearbox for performing transmission duties. Besides engine, the new Jeep small SUV will share the modular CMP platform with the C3.

The Avenger will also be made available with the petrol/diesel engine and come with Jeep’s Selec-Terrain off-road modes – Normal, Eco, Sport, Snow and Mud. Its electric iteration will deliver a range of 400km and power worth 156bhp with 260Nm from the electric motors. The SUV has a Stellantis-built 54kWh battery pack.

Upfront, the Jeep Avenger features the familiar seven-slot grille flaked by split headlamps and LED DRLs positioned just below the bonnet line. Some of its other design highlights include 18-inch alloy wheels, bold shoulder creases, black body cladding and squared-off taillamps with X-shaped LED lights. The overall length of the SUV stands at 4.1 metres, thus making it slightly shorter than the Hyundai Creta.
