Upcoming Maruti, Hyundai, Tata Cars At Auto Expo 2023

Asia’s largest auto event, the Delhi Auto Expo is all set to return after a gap of 3 years due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The biennial event is scheduled to happen in Greater Noida from January 13-18, 2023. Many automakers including VW Group, Mahindra and two-wheelers have decided to not participate in the event. The passenger car manufacturers participating in the event includes Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Tata Motors, Kia, Lexus, MG Motor, Toyota and Volvo. In this article, we bring you a list of upcoming new cars from Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai and Tata Motors at the 2023 Auto Expo.

Maruti Suzuki is likely to showcase 4 new cars along with special editions of existing range at the biennial event. The company will introduce the new crossover based on the Baleno hatchback. Codenamed YTB, the new model will be sold through NEXA premium dealership network. It will rival the likes of the Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Nissan Magnite and the Renault Kiger. The new model will be powered by a 1.0L Boosterjet petrol engine and a 1.2L DualJet petrol.

The company will also unveil the much-awaited 5-door Jimny lifestyle SUV at the biennial event. Compared to the Sierra, it will ride on 300mm longer wheelbase and the length has been increased by 300mm. The new model will be powered by a 1.5-litre K15C Dualjet petrol engine with manual and automatic gearbox option, and an AWD system as standard.

MSIL is also preparing to launch its own version of the upcoming Innova Hycross. The company could showcase this C-segment MPV at the Auto Expo 2023, while launch could take place in mid-2023. Maruti Suzuki is also expected to unveil an all-new electric concept at the biennial event.

It is expected that Hyundai will showcase around 4-5 new cars at the 2023 Auto Expo. The company is likely to introduce the new-gen Verna sedan at the biennial event. In fact, testing of the sedan has also been started on the Indian roads. It will grow in size and will offer more space inside the cabin. The new model is also expected to receive ADAS tech. It will share the engine options with the new Creta SUV.

Hyundai is also likely to launch the much-awaited Creta facelift at the 2023 Auto Expo. The new model will come with design changes and upgraded cabin. It will also come with ADAS tech with features like blind spot monitoring, autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control and others. It is reported that Hyundai could showcase two new EVs including the Ioniq 6 EV and a new affordable EV concept. Moreover, Hyundai is also planning to launch a new micro SUV to rival the Tata Punch in India.

Tata Altroz EV Specs

Tata Motors is expected to showcase the electric versions of the Altroz and Punch micro SUV at the biennial event. The company had unveiled the Altroz EV concept at the 2020 Auto Expo. It is expected that Tata could unveil the production version of the Altroz EV at the event. The new models are likely to share the battery pack with the Nexon EV and likely to offer a claimed range of over 300km. We believe that Tata could showcase the pre-production version of the Curvv SUV Coupe at the Auto Expo 2023.
