Japanese automaker, Isuzu is planning to introduce multiple new models in BS6 avatar in the Indian market. The company will introduce the 2021 V-Cross SUV in the next few months. Adding to it, the brand will launch the slightly premium version of the D-Max S-Cab. Called the Isuzu D-Max Hi-Lander, the dual-cab pick-up truck has been spotted at a dealership.
The D-Max Hi-Lander is basically a slightly premium version of the entry-level S-Cab variant. It comes with 225mm of ground clearance and no speed limiter. The Hi-Lander cabin comes with basic features such as manual air-conditioning, 4 speakers audio system, a tilt steering system, front and rear headrests, etc. This variant misses out on a touchscreen infotainment system.
The new Hi-Lander will receive dual airbags, ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System) with EBD (Electronic Brake-Force Distribution) and BA (brake assist), seatbelt pre-tensioner with load limiter, front disc brakes and steel underbody skid plate as standard safety features.
The Isuzu Hi-Lander is expected to be powered by a 1.9-litre turbo-charged diesel engine, which will produce around 150PS of power and 350Nm of peak torque. The engine will be paired to a manual gearbox. It is not likely to be offered with an all-wheel-drive system. It is reported that the new Hi-Lander variant could cost around Rs 5 lakh more than the D-Max S-Cab.
