Hyundai i20 N Line will be the next big launch from the South Korean carmaker in the country. It will be the first model from the company’s ‘N Line’ performance division of cars in India. While the hot hatch is slated to hit roads in September, its variant details have been leaked on the web. As per its Type Approval Certificate, the i20 N Line model lineup will be spread across three variants – N6 (based on Sportz trim), N8 and N8 DCT (based on Asta trim).
All three variants will be powered by 1.0L,3-cylinder T-GDI turbo petrol engine that’s good enough for 120PS at 6,000rpm and 172Nm at 1,500rpm – 4,000rpm. There will be two gearboxes on offer – iMT and DCT automatic (reserved for the top-end N8 variant). The overall length, width and height of the hot hatch stand at 3995mm, 1775mm and 1505mm respectively. It’s exactly similar to the regular model. The gross vehicle weight is between 1430kgs – 1460kg.
Visually, the Hyundai i20 N Line appears sportier than the regular model. The revised front and rear bumpers, N Line badging on the front grille, blacked out side skirts, blacked out pillars and chrome plated twin tip exhaust mark distinction to its portfolio. What will further differentiate it from the regular i20 will be 17-inch, dual-tone alloy wheels replacing the 16-inch units. The sporty theme continues inside the cabin as well. The upcoming Hyundai i20 N Line will feature ‘N Line’ badging on steering wheel, gear lever, upholstery and metal pedals. The sportier interior theme with contrasting red stitching and red accent on door pads add more to its feel and appeal.
Prices of the i20 N Line will certainly be higher than their standard counterparts. At present, the Hyundai i20 Sportz 1.0L iMT and Asta 1.0L DCT variants are available at Rs 8.82 lakh and Rs 10.74 lakh (all, ex-showroom) respectively.
