Hyundai Creta Diesel, Grand i10 & Venue Petrol In High Demand

Hyundai, India’s second largest car manufacturer, sold a total of 4,71,535 units in fiscal year 2020-2021. It registered a sales decline of 2.8% as compared to 4,85,309 units of the last financial year. Most of the sales comes from the petrol models (72%), followed by diesel (23%), CNG (5%) and electric (0.04%). Hyundai Creta is the top-selling model from the South Korean carmaker in the country.

The Creta has been ruling its segment ever since its launch in 2015. The compact SUV received a generation change in March 2020, which was followed by recent feature upgrades. In FY 2020-21, the carmaker sold 72,329 units of the Hyundai Creta as opposed to 57,552 units in the fiscal year 2019-20. The sales figure of the Creta petrol stood at 47,706 units.

Hyundai Grand i10 Nios CNG Price

Unlike the Creta, the Hyundai Grand i10 and Venue petrol iterations are high in demand. The hatchback recorded total sales of 1,00,611 units including 90,309 units of petrol, 1,321 units of diesel and 8,981 units of CNG models. The carmaker managed to sell 92,972 units of the Venue subcompact SUV in fiscal year 2020-21. The sales breakup includes 73,580 units of petrol and 19,392 units of diesel. Similarly, the petrol variants of the Hyundai Elite i20 premium hatchback, Aura compact sedan and Verna mid-size sedan witnessed high demand compared to their diesel counterparts. In FY 2020-21, Hyundai India retailed a total of 3,38,848 petrol and 1,09,430 diesel models along with 23,077 CNG units and 180 electric cars.

In latest updates, Hyundai is ready to launch the Alcazar 6/7-seater SUV to challenge the MG Hector Plus, Tata Safari and the upcoming Mahindra XUV700. Unofficial bookings of the vehicle have already been commenced and its launch might take place in the month of June. The carmaker has confirmed that the three-row SUV will come with the 2.0L petrol (159PS/192Nm) and 1.5L turbo petrol (115PS/250Nm) engine options. Both manual and automatic gearboxes will be on offer.
