A digital artist has released a new rendering of the Hyundai AX1 micro SUV, which looks closer to production model. The rendering is based on the spy images available on the internet. In fact, the styling of the small car is heavily inspired by the Venue sub-4 meter SUV.

The rendering shows that the compact car has upright front fascia with a falt bumper. It features a flatter hood, and Hyundai logo placed above the blacked-out mesh patterned grille. Also visible is the round-shaped headlamps with O-ring LED DRLs (Daytime Running Lamps). There are thin LED strips placed under the clamshell bonnet structure. These LED strips also work as turn indicators.

The rendering shows a compact car with boxy design with tall pillars, squared wheel arches with black plastic cladding and rectangular wing mirrors. Side profile looks like the compact version of the Venue. The rear passenger door handle is placed on the C-pillar. Black plastic can be seen all-around the body to offer a rugged feel.

The small SUV is likely to be based on the new K1 platform that also underpins the Grand i10 Nios. The India-spec model is expected to feature the 1.1-litre petrol engine that also powers the Santro. Paired to either a 5-speed MT or AMT, this engine produces 68bhp and 96Nm of torque. The vehicle could also feature the 82bhp, 1.2-litre petrol engine that powers the Grand i10 Nios. The new Hyundai AX1 could also receive the CNG option.
