Hyundai Alcazar Launch In 3rd Week Of June – All Details Here

Hyundai Alcazar 6/7-seater SUV will be the next launch from the South Korean carmaker in the country. The model was scheduled to launch in April, but it was postponed to June 2021. According to a fresh media report, the carmaker will announce prices of the Alcazar SUV in the third week of the next month (i.e. between 14th to 19th June). Unofficial bookings for the vehicle have already been commenced at select Hyundai dealerships.

The carmaker says that its upcoming three-row SUV “has been developed to harmonize Space, Premiumness, Performance, Convenience, Safety and Technology”. Its body structure involves 75.6% advanced and high-strength steel and its ring structure in B and D-pillar and engine room claimed to increase rigidity for better stability and handling. The new 6/7-seater SUV from Hyundai will be first car in its segment to offer 2nd row console armrest. It’s claimed to offer best-in-class wheelbase and boot space (180-litres). The SUV’s sliding seats are claimed to provide “superior thigh and lateral support’. Its 6-seater version will feature captain seats and the 7-seater model will offer bench-type seats in the middle row. The third row will have a reclining function.

For connectivity purpose, the Hyundai Alcazar will have a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The feature list also includes a 360 degree camera, wireless phone charging, ventilated front seats, powered driver’s seat, a panoramic sunroof, automatic AC unit, powered ORVMs and cruise control. The upcoming Alcazar shares its platform and design elements with the 5-seat Creta. Though, the three-row SUV has 150mm longer wheelbase than its younger sibling. In fact, it’s the longest wheelbase in the segment.

Hyundai has already confirmed that its new SUV will come with the 2.0L petrol engine making 159PS and 192Nm. It’s the same motor that does duty in the Tucson and Elantra, but its 7PS more powerful. The Hyundai Alcazar diesel will use a 1.5L turbo unit sourced from the Creta. The oil burner is good enough for 115PS and 250Nm of torque. There will be two gearboxes on offer – 6-speed manual and 6-speed torque convertor automatic.
