Hyundai has released the first interior sketch of the much-awaited Alcazar mid-sized SUV. The SUV is scheduled to make global debut in India on March 6, 2021. The mid-sized SUV will be offered in 6-and 7-seat layouts. The company has released the sketch of 6-seater variant, which will come with captain’s chairs for the second row.
The dashboard layout of the Alcazar is similar to that of the 5-Seater Creta; however, it gets dark brown scheme instead of beige shade. The SUV also gets slightly revised central tunnel. Adding to it, the Alcazar has new colour for the seats. The Alcazar comes equipped with a uniquely styled floor-mounted central armrest with cup holders. There could be a storage console below the cup holders.
The second row occupants also get wireless charging pad. Due to the central armrest, the access to the third-row will be done by folding the second row seats. The second row seats will come with a tumble-down feature. The third row seats come with integrated headrests and cup holders. AC vents are also offered for the third row.
If reports are to be believed, the Hyundai Alcazar could also receive ADAS technology which company calls Hyundai SmartSense. The advanced driver assistance system will offer features such as automatic emergency, rear cross-traffic alert, driver attention warning, blind sport collision avoidance assist, lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control, etc.
The Alcazar will share most of the features with the Creta. In terms of features, the SUV will get a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone connectivity, a 7-inch TFT instrument cluster, Bose sound system, 360 degree camera, Hyundai Bluelink connected car tech with over 50 connectivity features, and many more.
In terms of styling, the Hyundai Alcazar will grow in size and will have extended rear overhang. It gets extended rear overhang, revised C-column, roof-integrated spoiler, ORVMs with integrated blinkers, diamond-cut alloys, wrap-around tail-lights, flat roof, new tailgate and chrome-studded radiator grille.
The SUV will rival the Tata Safari, Mahindra XUV500 and the MG Hector Plus. It is estimated to be priced somewhere between Rs 13 lakh and Rs 19 lakh. The Hyundai Alcazar is expected to come with two engine options – a 138bhp, 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol and a 113bhp, 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel.
