Hyundai Alcazar Dealer Dispatch Begins; Launch In Coming Weeks

Hyundai Motor India has started dispatching the upcoming Alcazar 7-seater SUV ahead of its launch in June 2021. In fact, the carmaker shipped 1360 units of the vehicle in the month of May. It will be the fifth SUV from the South Korean carmaker in the country. According to the leaked information, the Alcazar SUV model lineup will be spread across 6 trims – Signature, Signature (O), Prestige, Prestige (O), Platinum and Platinum (O).

The new Hyundai three-row SUV can be had with either a 2.0L, 4-cylinder petrol or a 1.5L, 4-cylinder turbo diesel engines. The gasoline unit makes 159bhp with 192Nm and it can do 0 to 100kmph in under 10 seconds. The oil burner is good enough for 115bhp and 250Nm. The SUV will come with three drive modes – Eco, City and Sport. There will be two gearboxes on offer – a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque convertor automatic.

The entry-level Signature variant will be offered with diesel and petrol manual combination and 6-seater layout only. The Prestige trim will come with petrol and diesel manual combo only and both 6 and 7-seats layouts. The Prestige (O) will be exclusively available with petrol AT 6-seater and diesel AT 7-seater setup. While the Platinum will get petrol and diesel manual with 7-seats layout, the top-end Platinum (O) will be offered with 6-seater petrol and diesel automatic combination. There will be 6 exterior colour options – Phantom Black, Starry Night, Titan Grey, Typhoon Silver, Taiga Brown and Polar White. The SUV will have Congnac Brown interior theme. The Hyundai Alcazar will sit on 2760mm of wheelbase, which is longer than the Tata Safari (2741mm) and MG Hector Plus (2750mm). The overall length, width and height figures of the new Hyundai SUV are yet to be revealed. Prices are likely to start from Rs 13 lakh and go up to Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom).
