Hyundai Alcazar 7-Seater SUV To Get Larger Touchscreen Than Creta

It is no secret that Hyundai is readying the 7-seater version of the Creta SUV, which has been caught testing multiple times on the Indian roads. Rumoured to be called the Hyundai Alcazar, the 7-seater SUV will be positioned against the Mahindra XUV500 and others in the segment. The SUV is reportedly to be launched in the second quarter of 2021, most probably in April.

New reports claim that the upcoming Hyundai Alcazar 7-seater SUV will come with a larger touchscreen infotainment system than the standard Creta. The 5-seater Hyundai Creta is equipped with a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Adding to it, the SUV will also receive auto-dimming IRVM. The touchscreen unit will be compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay along with voice recognition.

The Hyundai Alcazar 7-seater SUV will receive some design changes to keep things fresh in the market. The SUV will have extended over hangs and longer wheelbase to create room for the third-row of seats. It will have a flatter roof instead of the sloping roof in the Creta. The rear section will be completely revised, as the Alcazar will get new LED tail-lamps, relatively flatter profile and new bumper and tailgate.

The 7-seater Creta will also receive a chrome-studded radiator grille, new bumper and headlamps. It is expected that the new model will be 30mm longer than the 5-seater Creta. The SUV will ride on 20mm longer wheelbase, which should help Hyundai to create more space inside the cabin.

The SUV is expected to be offered in 6-and 7-seat options. While the 6-seater will get captain seats for the second row, the 7-seater will have bench-type second row seat. The SUV is also likely to offer panoramic sunroof, automatic AC, 360 degree camera, leather upholstery and Bluelink connected car technology.

The Alcazar is expected to be offered with two engine options – a 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol and a 1.5-litre turbo-diesel. While the former is good for 138bhp and 250Nm of torque, the turbo-diesel engine produces 113bhp and 250Nm of torque. Both manual and automatic versions will be on offer.
