Honda Shine 100, the new commuter from the Japanese two-wheeler maker, has entered into production at the company’s Narasapura based plant in Karnataka. The company has also begun dispatching the bike to its dealerships across the country, and its deliveries will start in coming days. The motorcycle is being offered at an introductory price of Rs 64,900 (ex-showroom). At this price point, it takes on the Hero Splendor+, Hero HF Deluxe and Bajaj Platina 100. Honda’s new Shine 100 comes powered by a 99.7cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that’s OBD-2 compliant and capable running on E20 fuel (i.e. petrol with 20 percent ethanol blend). The motor pushes out a peak power of 7.6 bhp and 8.05Nm of torque at 6,000rpm. The company claims that its new 100cc bike deliver “higher fuel efficiency”. Though, its mileage figure is yet to be revealed by the bikemaker.

The bike underpins an all-new diamond frame and has a wheelbase of 1245mm and ground clearance of 168mm. It offers a seat height of 786mm and comes with a turning radius of 1.9 meters. Its overall length, width and height stand at 1955mm, 754mm and 1050mm respectively. It carries a kerb weight of 99kg and offers a fuel tank capacity of 9-litres.

Buyers get 5 colour options with the new Honda Shine 100 including Black with Blue Stripes, Black with Gold Strips, Black with Red Stripes, Black with Grey Stripes and Black with Green Stripes. The bike has halogen headlamp, differently designed fuel tank, alloy wheels with black finish, side stand inhibitor and taillamps. There is an analogue instrument cluster with fuel gauge, odometer and speedometer. For performing braking duties, the bike uses 130mm and 110mm front and rear drum brakes respectively. It also gets combined braking system.
