Honda Cars India has re-launched the 4th generation Honda City sedan in the country. The sedan is now available in two variants – SV and V – priced at Rs 9.30 lakh and Rs 10 lakh respectively. It is positioned below the 5th generation City sedan, which was launched in July 2020.

Commenting on the introducing of the 4th generation City, Mr Rajesh Goel, Sr. Vice President and Director, Marketing & Sales, Honda Cars India Ltd said, “While the All New 5th Gen Honda City has created new benchmark of supremacy occupying the most premium position in the mid-size sedan segment, we had decided to continue selling the 4th Generation Honda City as it continues to be a popular model with its contemporary styling and is also BS-6 compliant. With continuation of 4th Generation City in SV and V grade, we have ensured that the City brand is available to wider set of customers in terms of trims and different price points in the mid-size sedan segment.”
The 4th generation Honda City was originally launched in January 2014. It is available with the same BSVI compliant 1.5-litre SOHC engine that produces 119bhp and 145Nm of torque. Power will be transmitted to the front wheels via a 5-speed manual gearbox.
The 5th generation Honda is available in the price bracket of Rs 10.90 lakh and Rs 14.65 lakh. It is being offered in two engine options – a new 119bhp, 1.5-litre DOHC petrol and a 99bhp, 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol. Transmission choices will include a 6-speed manual and a 7-step CVT automatic (Petrol Only).
