Honda 2Wheeler India has launched the new Honda CB200X, a new entry-level crossover motorcycle. The company calls it a “perfect urban explorer”, as it features adventure motorcycle like design and dual-purpose tyres. However, it is not a off-road motorcycle or a dual-purpose bike like the Hero XPluse 200. The new CB200X is available at a price tag of Rs 1.44 lakh. On the other hand, the Hero XPulse 200 is tagged at Rs 1.20 lakh. The XPulse is 24,000 cheaper than the Japanese counterpart, and offers better off-road capabilities.

In terms of proportions, the Hero XPulse 200 is 187mm longer, 7mm wider and 10mm taller than the CB200X. The XPulse has a wheelbase of 1,410mm that is 55mm longer than that of the CB200X (1,35mm). Adding to it, Hero’s ADV offers a 53mm higher ground clearance.
On the other hand, the Honda CB200X is 10kg lighter and offers 13mm shorter saddle height. The XPusle 200 has a seat height of 823mm, while the CB200X offers a seat height of 810mm. The CB200X is designed for City rides and occasional highway rides. The XPulse has a fuel tank of 13-litres capacity, while the CB200X has 12-litre of fuel tank.

– Hero XPulse 200 is powered by a 199.6cc single-cylinder oil-cooled engine that produces 17.8bhp of power at 8,500rpm and a peak torque of 16.45Nm at 6,500rpm. It is paired to a 5-speed gearbox.
– The Honda CB200X is propelled by a 184.4cc single-cylinder engine that also powers the Hornet 2.0. Paired to a 5-speed gearbox, this engine produces 17bhp of power at 8,500rpm and 16.1Nm of torque at 6,000rpm.
CB200X Vs XPulse 200 Suspensions, Braking, Tyres
– The CB200X is based on the same Diamond Type Chassis that underpins the Hornet 2.0, while the XPusle 200 is based on a Tubular Diamond frame.
– The CB200X gets upside-down front forks and a monoshock unit at the rear. The XPulse gets telescopic front forks with a 190mm travel, and a 10-step rider-adjustable monoshock at the rear.
– The Honda CB200X rides on 17-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 100/70 and 140/70 section tyres at the front and rear respectively. On the flip side, the XPulse 200 gets 21`-inch front wheel shod with 90/90 section tyre and 18-inch spoked wheel at the rear wrapped in a 120/80 section tyre.
– Both bikes come equipped with disc brakes at both ends. Front gets 276mm disc, while rear has 220mm disc. A single-channel ABS system comes as standard.
