Honda 2Wheelers India is planning to expand its top-selling Activa scooter model lineup with a new variant. As per the RTO document, the upcoming new model will be named Honda Activa Smart. It’s likely to go on sale on next week on 23rd January as the company sent a ‘Block Your Date’ invite of the same date. The document states that the new Activa variant will come with the same 109.51cc engine that does duty in the regular model. The motor pushes out a peak power of 7.79PS at 8,000rpm.
The upcoming Honda Activa Smart has a gross vehicle weight (GVW) of 279kg, which is 1kg lesser than the Activa Std and DLX variants. The scooter measures 1833mm in length, 697mm in width and 1156mm in height. It has a wheelbase of 1260mm. Honda’s new ‘H-Smart’ anti-theft system will debut with the Activa Smart scooter. More details on the new Honda Activa Smart and ‘H-Smart’ tech will be revealed on the next Monday (i.e. 23rd Jan).
In other updates, the Japanese two-wheeler maker is reportedly working on a new 100cc bike. The model will promise high fuel efficiency and come at an affordable price. The new Honda 100cc bike is likely to go on sale in early 2023. At present, the bikemaker offers Honda CD110 Dream DLX and Honda Livo motorcycles in the 110cc segment. Both models are powered by a 109.51cc, single-cylinder engine making 8.7bhp and 9.3Nm.
The Honda XRE 300 Adventure bike, which is currently on sale on select global markets, might also make its way to India. Powering the model will be a 291.6cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that can run on both petrol and ethanol. The setup dishes out a maximum power of 25.4bhp and 27.6Nm of torque. It makes 25.6bhp with 28Nm while running on ethanol.
