Hero MotoCorp has reduced the prices of the popular Vida V1 electric scooter by Rs 25,000. The entry-level variant of the Vida V1 Plus variant is now priced at Rs 1.03 lakh, while the V1 Pro now costs Rs 1.20 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi including FAME II subsidy).
The Hero Vida V1 electric scooter is available with swappable batteries. It is offered with 2 battery packs – a 3.44kWh with V1 Plus and 3.94kWh with V1 Pro. The former offers a certified range of 143km on a single charge, while the V1 Pro can run up to 165km on a single charge. The V1 Pro and V1 Plus can achieve 0 to 40kmph acceleration in just 3.2 seconds and 3.4 seconds respectively. The e-scooters are claimed to offer a maximum speed of 80kmph.
The electric motor draws power from the battery and offers 6kW (8bhp) and 25Nm of torque. However, the continuous power available stands at 5.2bhp. The new Vida V1 offers 3 ride modes – Eco, Ride and Sport. The top-spec V1 Pro also has a Custom mode, which offers over 100 combinations to suit the rider’s needs. The scooter also has limp mode, which reduces the speed of 20kmph on battery capacity less than 10%. The scooter only runs on Eco and Ride with battery capacity under 20%. It also has a SuperSport mode, which activates on over 95% throttle input. This allows quick acceleration during overtakes.
The scooter’s battery can be charged in 3 different ways. It has two removable battery packs, which can be charged at home. The V1 Plus battery can be charged from 0 to 80% in 5 hours & 15 minutes, and the V1 Pro battery takes 5 hours 55 min to achieve similar charging levels. It also has a portable charging option, which allows one to charge the battery at parking space. The electric scooter also supports fast charging & is claimed to achieve 1.2km range per minute.

Hero is currently selling the Vida V1 e-scooter in Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kochi, Kozhikode, Nagpur, Nashik, New Delhi and Pune. The company plans to expand its sales to 100 cities before the end of this year.
