Hero Mavrick 440 Launching On 22nd Jan – What We Know So Far!

Hero MotoCorp is gearing up for the launch of its much-anticipated offering, the Hero Mavrick 440, on January 22, 2024, marking the first major product release from the indigenous two-wheeler manufacturer this year. Having undergone numerous test rounds, the Mavrick 440 is set to take center stage with media rides scheduled for the third week of February. Positioned as the flagship bike for Hero MotoCorp, it will share its platform, powertrain, and several components with the Harley-Davidson X440.

Expected to be the most expensive bike in Hero’s lineup, the Mavrick 440 is anticipated to be competitively priced around Rs 2 lakh, making it a more affordable option compared to the Harley-Davidson X440, which ranges between Rs 2,39,500 and Rs 2,79,500 (ex-showroom). Upon its launch, the 440cc Hero bike will enter the market to contend with rivals such as the Royal Enfield Classic 350, Triumph Scrambler 400X, and Triumph Speed 400.

New Hero Mavrick 440

At the heart of the Hero Mavrick 440 will be the X440’s 440cc, single-cylinder, oil/air-cooled engine, delivering power worth 27bhp at 6,000rpm and 38Nm of torque at 4,000rpm. While these figures are consistent with the X440, the Hero variant may feature a distinctively designed exhaust, deviating from the round end-can unit.

In terms of features, the Mavrick 440 is expected to borrow elements from the Hero Karizma XMR, including a TFT instrument screen, Bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, and smartphone integration through a dedicated app compatible with both Apple and Android devices. The bike’s design is likely to showcase retro-styled elements such as a round headlamp, a muscular fuel tank, bar-end mirrors, and wide handlebars.

Hero MotoCorp’s strategic plans involve introducing premium motorcycles in two segments: Core Premium and Upper Premium. The Mavrick 440 will fall under the Upper Premium category, aligning with the company’s vision to establish 100 exclusive stores for its premium bike range and enhance existing 500 outlets as part of the Hero 2.0 retail plan.
