Ford Mustang Mach-E Could Be Launched In India – Fresh Details

We reported earlier that Ford Motor Company is expected to make its re-entry in the Indian market with some of its premium offerings. Ford has recently cancelled its Chennai plant sale deal with JSW and has also patented the Endeavour SUV. Adding to it, the company has also posted some job openings for senior positions. Now, the American SUV maker has registered the Ford Mustang Mach-E trademark in India.

At the time of exit in 2021, Ford had said that it could introduce some of its global cars in the Indian market. The Ford Mustang Mach-E crossover electric SUV could be launched in the Indian market. It will come as a CBU (Completely Built-Up) and is likely to be priced somewhere between Rs 70 lakh and Rs 1 crore. The electric crossover will rival the likes of the Kia EV6, Volvo XC40 Recharge, BMW iX1 or i4.

Ford Mustang Mach-E Trademarked

The Ford Mustang March-E will be identical to the global model, which is currently assembled in Mexico and China. The American automaker could also consider the CKD route for the electric crossover in India.

The Ford Mustang Mach-E is available in 4 variants and in both RWD & eAWD variants. Both standard range and extended range variants are also available. The entry-level Mach-E Select is fitted with a 70kWh battery with a rear-axle mounted electric motor rated at 266bhp and 430Nm. the e4WD variant offers higher torque of 580Nm. While the RWD variant is claimed to offer a range of up to 402km, the eAWD variant offers 360km on a single charge. The extended range variant with RWD setup offers a range of 505km on a single charge. The eAWD variant offers a range of up to 446km on a single charge. The electric crossover has an electronically limited top speed of 185kmph.

The range-topping Ford Mustang Mach-E GT variant is packed with a 91kWh battery pack. The eAWD variant offers 480bhp and 813Nm of torque, while the GT Performance Edition offers 860Nm of torque. It is claimed to offer a range of up to 435km on a single charge. It is claimed to achieve 0 to 100kmph in less than 4 seconds.
