Ford Endeavour BaseCamp Off-Road Accessories Pack Coming To India

Ford India recently rolled out the Endeavour Sport edition with black treatment at Rs 35.10 lakh (ex-showroom). According to a leaked document, the company has trademarked the Ford Endeavour BaseCamp Edition in the country. For people not in the know, the American carmaker introduced the Everest (Endeavour) BaseCamp in New Zealand and Australian markets last year. The BaseCamp is essentially the off-road accessory package offered on all variants in the Everest range.

Globally, the Everest BaseCamp pack includes LED light bar, a nudge bar, bonnet protector, a Pioneer roof rack platform and carry bars, a snorkel, sunseeker awning and a tow bar. The SUV’s accessory range also includes a roof luggage bag, a roof basket, kayak rack, a bike rack, underbody lighting, a bull bar, a nudge bar, ski racks and a Rhino-Rack batwing awning. Details of the India-spec Ford Endeavour BaseCamp Edition are still under the wraps.

Similar to the global model, the India-bound version is likely to come with the same powertrain. Currently, the premium SUV is available with a BS6, 2.0L diesel engine paired to a 10-speed automatic gearbox. Compared to the old motor, the updated one is claimed to be 14% more fuel efficient. In Australia, the Everest BaseCamp pack costs $2000 (around 1 lakh) premium over the regular model. At present, the Endeavour comes in three trims – Titanium 4X2 AT, Titanium+ 4X2 AT and Titanium+ 4X4 AT – priced at Rs 29.99 lakh, Rs 32.75 lakh and Rs 34.45 lakh respectively. The newly-launched Endeavour Sport Edition has been priced at Rs 35.10 lakh. The Ford Endeavour BaseCamp Edition is expected to cost around Rs 35.50 lakh (ex-showroom). It’s official launch date and details are yet to be revealed by the carmaker. Though, its reported to hit roads in coming months.
