Cross-Hatch Honda Civic Teased; Global Debut Next Month

The Honda Civic Versatilist concept is essentially the crossover version of the Civic hatchback.

The Japanese carmaker will showcase the Honda Civic Versatilist concept at the Tokyo Auto Salon that’s scheduled to take place from 11th to 13th January, 2019. The new concept is essentially the crossover version of the Civic hatchback. Upfront, the Honda Civic Versatilist concept features sporty bumper with slim vents positioned in front of the wheel arches and a narrow central air-dam. You will also notice white cladding along the lower edge of the cross-hatch. Features such as pronounced wheel arches and raised ride height add more to its sporty appearance. Honda Civic Versatilist Concept 

Engine and feature details of the Honda Civic Versatilist concept are still under the wraps. There is no clarity whether the cross hatch concept will enter the production or not.

In India, Honda will re-introduce the new Civic sedan in February, 2019. The saloon receives significant design changes along with two new colour schemes – Molten Lava Pearl and Platinum White Pearl. Engine setup of the sedan will include a 1.8-litre i-VTEC petrol and a 1.6-litre i-DTEC diesel motor generating power worth 140hp and 120bhp respectively.

The sedan carline will be made available with a 6-speed manual and a ZF-sourced 9-speed automatic gearbox. While the petrol variants will come with both transmission options, the diesel models will be offered with a manual gearbox unit. Honda Cars India aims to achieve up to 68% localisation levels for the new Civic sedan.
