Citroen is gearing up to bring in the all-new C3 Aicross midsize SUV in India in the second half of 2023 (possibly around Diwali season). The French automaker will further expand its product portfolio with a new crossover sedan – codenamed CC22. It’s reported to be called Citroen C3X and might hit roads around July 2024. It will be fourth model and third ICE-powered offering from the French carmaker in the country. The company will also introduce its electric iteration a later stage (probably in January or February 2025). The C3X sedan will be put up against the Hyundai Verna, Honda City, Skoda Slavia and Volkswagen Virtus.
Here’re some key details of the upcoming Citroen C3X sedan that we know so far.
– The C3X will have a high ground clearance similar to an SUV and carry fastback styling. Its design could be inspired by the Citroen C4X and C5X, which are currently on sale in European markets. The C5X is the company’s flagship model with unique design blending elements from sedans, estates and SUVs.
– While its front fascia will share resemblance with the C3 Aircross, it will have a heavily tapered roofline and a notchback-like tailgate. Styling bits such as plastic cladding all around, alloy wheels, pronounced wheel arches and high ground clearance will add more to looks.
– The overall length of the new Citroen sedan will be around 4.3-4.4 metres in length, while its wheelbase could be similar to the C3 Aircross SUV.
– In terms of features, the Citroen C3X sedan could be offered with a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system supporting both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a fully digital instrument cluster, steering mounted controls, HVAC controls and more.
– Citroen’s new sedan will share its platform (CMP) with the C3 hatchback. For power, the model might use the 110bhp, 1.2L turbo petrol engine sourced from the Citroen C3.
