Citroen C3 Compact Crossover Rendered Based On Spy Images

It is no secret that Citroen is readying an all-new compact crossover, codenamed C21 for the Indian market. Not just India, this compact crossover will also be launched in emerging markets including Brazil. The new model will also receive a hatchback version. The new models will replace the Citroen C3 and the C3 Aircross, and will be launched in India in 2021-22.

Citroen has already started testing the C21 compact SUV in India. The new model will be based on the simplified version of the CMP (Common Modular Platform) architecture, which also underpins the Peugeot 208. The new model will make global debut in India in the second half of 2021.

Based on the spy images, the digital artist Du Oliveria, released a new rendering that shows the possible design of the Citroen C3 2022. The rendering shows that the new model will have bolder front and high-set bonnet. It also takes inspiration from Citroen’s 19_19 Concept and the CXPerience Concept and the Ami One Concept.

The Citroen C21 will have luminous signature front grille in the form of two “Y” beam-lines. The vehicle will have split headlamp setup with LED DRLs on top and main headlamp unit placed slightly lower. The headlamp is placed between the “Y” shaped LED lights, while the grille resembles the C5 Aircross. The lower air intake will have honeycomb treatment. The side profile has the signature airbumps at the bottom of the doors. Black plastic cladding can be seen all around the body. The rear in rendering appears simple, featuring wrap-around tail-lamps with LED inserts, roof-integrated spoiler with brake lights and dual-tone bumper.

It is expected that the upcoming Citroen compact SUV will come with a single 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine. Likely to produce around 130bhp, this engine is expected to be offered with manual and automatic gearbox options. Citroen could also offer the C21 compact SUV with a 1.2L naturally-aspirated petrol and 1.5L diesel engines.
