Auto manufacturers in India have released their sales number for the month of August 2022. The companies have reported a positive sales growth last month. In this article, we talk about sales report for the month of Kia India and Toyota for the month of August 2022.
Kia India – 33.27% Sales Growth
The Korean automaker has announced that it has recorded a total of 22,322 units in the domestic market in the month of August 2022. The company has reported a year-on-year sales growth of 33.27 per cent. The Seltos is the brand’s top-selling model with a total of 8,652 units last month.
Kia India sold 7,838 units of the Sonet and 5,558 units of the Carens MPV in the domestic market in August 2022. The company has also sold 274 units of the flagship Carnival premium MPV. In the first eight months of this calendar year, Kia sold 1,66,167 vehicles in the country. The company reported a year-on-year volume jump of 29 per cent as against the same period in CY 2021. Kia reported more than 1.20 lakh units of the Seltos and Sonet combined in the first 8 months of calendar year 2022.
In the past 8 months, Kia sold 65,513 units of the Seltos and 55,740 units of the Sonet in the country. The company sold 42,489 units of the Carens MPV, a monthly average of over 6,000 units since its launch earlier this year.
Toyota India
Toyota Kirloskar Motor sold 14,959 units in the month of August 2022 as against 12,272 units in the same month last year. The company reported a year-on-year sales growth of 17.12 per cent. Toyota is currently selling the Innova, Fortuner, Glanza, Urban Cruiser, Hilux, Camry and Vellfire. It will soon announce the prices of the new Urban Cruiser Hyryder.
Toyota had reported its highest ever sales in the country in July 2022 at 19,693 units. The brand’s month-on-month sales decline by 24 per cent with volume loss of 4,734 units.
