The German two-wheeler manufacturer has revealed its futuristic yet near-to-production electric scooter concept, called BMW CE 04. The model is likely to launch in international markets by 2022. As of now, BMW Motorrad has no plan to bring in its e-scooter in India. Here’re key features of the upcoming new CE 04 electric scooter.
BMW CE 04 Range, Specs
The CE 04 electric scooter comes with a permanent magnet motor, which is mounted in the steel frame between the battery and rear wheel. It’s claimed to return a maximum power of 42bhp (31kW). An 8.9kWh lithium ion battery has been fitted between the floorboard, delivering power to the motor.
The new BMW electric scooter offers a range of 130kms on a single charge. It comes with three standard riding modes – Eco, Road and Rain, and two optional modes – Dynamic and Dynamic Traction Control.
BMW CE 04 Charging Time
Its battery pack can be fully charged in 4 hours and 20 minutes via a 2.3kW charger. The charging time can be reduced to an hour and 40 minutes via a 6.9kW fast charger. The CE 04 is claimed to do 0 to 50kmph in 2.6 seconds and attain a tops speed of 120kmph.
BMW CE 04 Braking, Suspension System
The new BMW electric scooter underpins a tubular steel frame and rides on 15-inch wheels with a 120 section front and 160 section rear tyres. Its suspension setup includes a 35mm telescopic fork upfront and a preload adjustable monoshock with a single-sided swingarm at the rear. The e-scooter sources its braking power from twin 265mm discs and a single disc rear brakes, which are further assisted by ABS. The ABS Pro comes as an optional offering.
BMW CE 04 Features
The German e-scooter comes equipped with a large 10.25-inch, high-resolution TFT display supporting smartphone connectivity. The unit also features integrated maps, and helps accessing ride modes. It also gets a ventilated mobile charging compartment with a type-C USB charging port. Design and styling of the CE 04 electric scooter concept looks similar to the BMW Motorrad Concept Link.
Some of its key elements include front apron, V-shaped headlamp with LED headlamp, LED DRLs,large side panels, bench-like seat and a tilt rear section. The new BMW electric scooter is offered in two colour schemes – White with Matt Black section and Magellan Grey Metallic with Black/Orange Seat and Orange wind deflector (only on the Avant Garde Style variant).
