2021 Nissan Kicks Coming On December 8, 2020; Teased For The US

First introduced in 2018 in the United States, the Nissan Kicks replaced the quirky-styled Juke in the subcompact crossover segment. The company is now readying the updated version of the Kicks SUV, which will be unveiled in the US on December 8, 2020. The 2021 Nissan Kicks facelift first teaser image has been officially released, which shows that significant design changes will be made to the front profile. 

The 2021 Nissan Kicks first introduced in May 2020 for Thailand. The Thai-spec model was introduced as a hybrid, which uses smaller petrol engine to charge batteries for the electric motor. The US-spec model also receives significant design changes. It features the brand’s larger V-Motion grille, which is the most noticeable different compared to the outgoing model.

The front fascia has a bigger grille, which is flanked by a thinner headlights that connect to prominent sculpting on either side of the grille. The majority of the changes are expected on the front fascia, which will offer bolder look. The rear is also expected to feature revised taillights.

The Kicks cabin will also receive some changes to keep things fresh in the market. It will have an updated center console with smller buttons and a larger touchscreen infotainment system. It is expected that the Kicks facelift for the US will have similarities with the Thai-spec model, which was introduced in May 2021.

For people not in the know, the Nissan Kicks for the global model is based on the Nissan’s V platform. However, the India-spec model is based on the Duster’s BO platform. The company has no plans to update the existing Kicks anytime soon. Instead, the brand is focusing on promoting the newly launched Magnite sub-4 meter SUV.
