Bajaj Dominar 250 Price Cut By Rs 16,544; Cheaper Than Gixxer 250

Bajaj Auto had launched the Dominar 250 power cruiser at a starting price of Rs 1.60 lakh in March 2020. In the past 1 year, Bajaj had increased the prices of the sports cruiser 4 times. The motorcycle was last retailed at Rs 1.71 lakh. In a big move, Bajaj has reduced the price of the Dominar 250 by Rs 16,544.

Bajaj Auto’s website listed that the Dominar 250 is now available at a price tag of Rs 1,54,176 (ex-showroom, New Delhi). The motorcycle price has been reduced by around 10 percent, which is significant. This could be the move to counter the rising competition in the market.

Few days back, Yamaha had slashed the prices of the FZ25 250cc naked streetfighter. The FZ25 sits below the Pulsar NS200 in terms of pricing. Yamaha had reduced the prices of the FZ 25 and FZS 25 by Rs 18,800 and Rs 19,300 respectively. The FZ25 is now retailed at Rs 1.35 lakh, whule the FZS 25 is priced at Rs 1.39 lakh. Thanks to the price cut, Bajaj Dominar 250 is now Rs 8,269 cheaper than the Pulsar RS200. It was speculated that Bajaj will continue to sell the Dominar nameplate as a premium brand. The motorcycle is now positioned under the Pulsar RS200 in terms of pricing. Bajaj is yet to make an official announcement on the same.

The Bajaj Dominar 250 is now significantly cheaper than the Suzuki Gixxer 250, which is retailed at Rs 1.71 lakh. The power cruiser is around 17,000 cheaper than the Suzuki’s naked motorcycle. It also becomes the second most affordable model in its category.

The Bajaj Dominar 250 is powered by a 248.8cc, fuel injected single-cylinder engine that also powers the KTM 250 Duke. This engine is de-tuned for the power cruiser. Paired to a 6-speed gearbox, the 250cc engine is capable of producing 27bhp of power at 8,500rpm and 23.5Nm of torque at 6,500rpm. The motorcycle rides on 17-inch wheels wrapped in 100/80 and 110/70 section tyres at the front and rear respectively.

The touring-focused motorcycle also has features like slipper clutch and dual-channel ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System). The suspension mechanism comprises of 37mm USD front forks and monoshock at the rear. For braking, it gets 300mm disc at the front and 230mm rear disc.
