German luxury carmaker, Audi has recently launched its smallest SUV – the Audi Q2 in the Indian market. At the launch, the company has teased its next offering that is likely to be launched in November 2020. The teaser clearly suggests that the next Audi in our market will be the S5 Sportback four-door coupe. It won’t have a direct rival in our market, but it could impact the sales of the Mercedes-AMG C-43.
The company will introduce the facelifted S5 Sportback, which was unveiled at the 2019 Frankfurt Motor Show. The overall profile of the updated Ausi S5 Sportback is identical to the previous model; however, it gets a completely redesign front. It features a sharper single-frame grille and new LED headlamps with DRLs (Daytime Running Lamps). The 4-door Coupe comes fitted with sportier bumper and differently styled tail-lamps.
Inside the cabin, the new Audi S5 Sportback 4-door coupe gets a revised infotainment system with a large 10.1-inch touchscreen. The Sportback also gets connected car technologies like news updates, Google Earth Mapping, fuel pricing, parking sear function and others. However, these features are not likely to be on offer in the India-spec model.
In terms of features, the 4-door Coupe gets Audi’s Virtual cockpit, dual-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, three viewing modes – classic, sport and dynamic, and premium Bang & Olufsen sound system. It also offers multiple airbags, a tyre pressure monitoring system, ESC, ABS with EBD, brake assist, front and rear parking sensors, adaptive cruise control with traffic jam assist and multiple airbags.
In the international markets, the Audi S5 Sportback will be offered with 2 engine options – a 3.0-litre diesel and 3.0-litre petrol. The India-spec model is likely to receive the petrol engine that produces 345bhp and 500Nm of torque. It is claimed to achieve 0-100kmph in just 4.5 seconds before hitting a top speed of 250kmph. Power will be transmitted to all-4 wheels via an 8-speed automatic gearbox.
