Audi e-tron Electric SUV (1st Batch) Almost Sold Out in India

Audi India rolled out the e-tron electric SUV last month. The model lineup has been offered in three variants – e-tron 50, e-tron 55 and e-tron Sportback – priced at Rs 99.99 lakh, Rs 1.16 lakh and Rs 1.17 lakh respectively. All aforementioned prices are ex-showroom. Speaking to carandbike, Balbir Dhillion, Head of Audi India, has revealed that the first batch of the electric SUV has almost sold out in the country. However, the number of units allocated in the first batch haven’t been revealed by the carmaker.

Now, the luxury German carmaker aims to launch more EVs and expects them achieve 15% of its Indian sales by 2025. The company might also consider local assembly of EVs in India, if the demand reaches a threshold level. The local assembly of the electric vehicles will surely help the carmaker bring down their prices and get rid of import duties. As of now, the Audi e-tron is being imported to India as a Completely Built Unit (CBU).
