Aprilia Tuono 457 Under Development? Yamaha MT-03 Rival

Italian bike manufacturer, Aprilia has recently launched the much-awaited RS 457 twin-cylinder sports bike in the Indian market. Positioned between the R3 and the RC390, the new Aprilia RS 457 is available at a price tag of Rs 4.10 lakh (ex-showroom). The company also has the Tuono streetfighter in the 660cc and 1100cc segment. It is expected that Aprilia could introduce the 457cc version of the Tuono in the Indian as well as global markets.

The new motorcycle will follow the RS strategy, which shares the styling cues from the bigger 660cc sibling. The Aprilia Tuono 457 is likely to share the platform, engine and cycle parts with the RS 457 motorcycle. Similar to the RS 457, the Aprilia Tuono 457 is likely to get the inverted forks at the front and monoshock at the rear. The motorcycle will have 3 riding modes – Eco, Rain and Sport. It is also likely to receive the fly adjustable traction control. The motorcycle will have disc brakes and dual-channel ABS system.

The motorcycle could receive the 5-inch TFT dash with ride modes and Bluetooth connectivity. The switchgears are likely to be shared with the bigger Aprilia motorcycles. It will share the styling cues from the Tuono 660, which has an aggressive front biking fairing and a split LED headlamp setup.

The Aprilia Tuono 457 is likely to be positioned somewhere between the KTM Duke 390 and the recently launched Yamaha MT-03. The MT-03 has recently been launched in India as a CBU model and is priced at Rs 4.60 lakh. On the other hand, the Tuono 660 is expected to cost somewhere around Rs 3.90 lakh – Rs 4 lakh.
