Aprilia RS 457 Launched In India – Price Rs 4.1 Lakh

Unveiled at the Indian MotoGP round, Aprilia has now launched the much-awaited Aprilia RS 457 fully-faired sport bike in the Indian market. The motorcycle is available at an introductory price tag of Rs 4.1 lakh (ex-showroom, Maharashtra).

The new Aprilia RS 457 is produced at the brand’s Baramati based plant and will also be exported to other countries. It is powered by a liquid-cooled, 457cc, parallel-twin engine that produces 48bhp of power. The motorcycle’s engine uses an uneven 270-degree firing order, which is claimed to offer fruity exhaust note without compromising on the high refinement levels. The Aprilia RS 457 offers three riding modes – Eco, Rain and Sport. It also comes equipped with on the fly adjustable traction control.

This new parallel-twin engine is coupled to a 6-speed gearbox with a slip-and-assist clutch. The company is also offering a quickshifter as an optional extra. The new motorcycle sits on an aluminium perimeter frame suspended by a Upside-Down front fork and monoshock at the rear. Both suspension units are adjustable for preload.

The motorcycle rides on 17-inch wheels wrapped in 110/70 and 150/60 section tyres at the front and rear, respectively. The Aprilia RS 457 is the first motorcycle to be rolled out from the brand’s Baramati plant to feature TVS Eurogrip Protorq Extreme tyres. For braking duties, the motorcycle gets a 320mm front disc and a 220mm rear disc. The motorcycle’s 5-inch TFT dash and the switchgear appears similar to the those found on the larger Aprilia motorcycles.

In terms of pricing, the Aprilia RS 457 fully-faired motorcycle is positioned right between the KTM RC 390 and the Kawasaki Ninja 400. The KTM RC390 is tagged at Rs 3.18 lakh, while the Ninja 400 is priced at Rs 5.24 lakh. Bookings for the new RS 457 will commence on December 15, while deliveries are being promised from March 2024. Customers can also take test ride vehicles from January 2024 onwards.
