All-New Kia Sportage (Jeep Compass Rival) Spotted For The First Time

Korean automaker, Kia Motors has recently revealed the next generation Sorento and the Carnival MPV. It seems like the brand has already started testing the all-new Kia Sportage. It’s Korean cousin, the Hyundai Tucson is all set to receive a generation change as the new model has been spotted numerous times.

The all-new Kia Sportage was caught testing in South Korea. The prototype was heavily camouflaged, which suggests that the SUV will receive major changes. Due to heavy covers, it is quite difficult to find out the possible design changes. It was an early prototype, as it features temporary headlights and taillights. The spotted car has wing mirrors placed on the door instead on the A pillar.

The base of the A column has been altered, offering a small window space instead of the black plastic part offered in the current model. There is radar mounted on the front of the vehicle, which is used for safety and driving assistants. In fact, the interior of the all-new Kia Sportage was heavily camouflaged. It features basic test instruments and plastic parts on the doors. According to the Korean media, the new Sportage won’t be introduced anytime soon. The launch has been postponed due to multiple reasons such as departure of Kia’s head of design and the coronavirus pandemic. Adding to it, Kia’s board didn’t like the design created by Luc Donckerwolke and was asked for changes.

The all-new Kia Sportage will share the engine specifications with the new Hyundai Tucson, which is expected to be unveiled before the end of this year. The new models will be based on the new platform, which will be lighter and compatible with different engine options including electric.
