The long-awaited all new Hyundai Verna mid-sized sedan will finally go on sale in the country tomorrow. Ahead of the launch, Hyundai has started dispatching the new sedan to dealerships across the country. Interested buyers can book the new Verna online or at authorised Hyundai dealerships by paying a token amount of Rs 25,000.
All New Hyundai Verna – Price Expectations
The new Verna sedan will come with several segment-leading features and more premium interior. The new model is expected to be priced somewhere between Rs 11 lakh and Rs 18 lakh. It will rival the likes of the Honda City, Volkswagen Virtus, Skoda Slavia and the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz. It will come in 4 trim levels – EX, S, SX and SX (O). The sedan will come in 9 colour options including 3 all-new colours – Abyss Black, Atlas White and Tellurian Brown.
All New Hyundai Verna Engine Options
The new Verna will be offered with two engine options – a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol and a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder turbo petrol. While the former is good for 113bhp and 114Nm of torque, the turbo petrol engine churns out 158bhp and 253Nm of torque. Transmission choices will include a 6-speed manual as standard, a 6-speed torque convertor with 1.5L NA petrol and a 7-speed DCT with 1.5L turbo petrol.
ADAS & Safety Features
The new Verna will be the second mid-sized sedan to offer ADAS tech. The sedan’s Level 2 ADAS tech offers features such as Adaptive cruise control with stop and go, Blind spot collision avoidance assist, Forward collision warning, Lane keep assist, Blind spot collision warning, Lane departure warning, Lane following assist, Driver attention warning, High beam assist, Leading vehicle departure alert and Rear cross traffic collision avoidance assist.
The sedan will come with 6 airbags, hill start assist, electronic stability control (ESC), front and rear parking sensors, ABS with EBD, TPMS, electronic parking brake, headlamp escort function, automatic headlamps and others.
Key Details
The all new Hyundai Verna is longer and wider than the previous model. It measures 4535mm in length, 1765mm in width and 1475mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2670mm. It has a boot space of 528-litres, which is the biggest in the category. In terms of features, the sedan gets a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with wireless Apple CarPlay & Android Auto support, a digital driver’s display, an 8-speaker sound system by Bose, a touch-based climate control panel, segment-first heated & ventilated front seats, and others.
