Harley Davidson is working on new entry-level motorcycle in partnership with Chinese manufacturer Qianjiang. The company is developing a new 353cc motorcycle and a new 500cc motorcycle. These motorcycles are very closer to production, as production-ready models have already been spotted in China.
A new media report claims that the American motorcycle brand has submitted the new bike’s VIN decoder information to the US’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). The new motorcycle is reportedly to be called the Harley Davidson 338.
According to the VIN decoder information, the new Harley Davidson 338R will be powered by a 353cc parallel-twin fuel-injected liquid-cooled engine. The NHTSA data also reveals that the model years for the motorcycle to be from 2021 to 2026. This suggest that the motorcycle was ready for the launch; however, it has been delayed due to multiple reasons – COVID-19 pandemic is one of these.
The new motorcycle will first arrive in the Asian markets before going in other countries. More details of the motorcycle will reveal in near future. The VIN information indicate that the new bike being one-step closer to launch.
New Harley Davidson 500cc
The company will also launch a new 500cc motorcycle, which has already been spotted in China. It will come with a different 500cc parallel twin engine. The new motorcycle is likely to be based on the Benelli Leoncino 500. Most of the components including the frame, the front suspension, raidal brake calipers and swingarm will be shared with the Leoncino 500.
