All-New Citroen C3 Aircross (Creta Rival) In The Works – New Details Emerge

First launched in 2017, the Citroen C3 Aircross is the Stellantis offering the small SUV segment. The company had introduced the upgraded model in 2021. A new media report claims that the French automaker has started working on the next-gen model. Set to be launched in 2024, the all-new Citroen C3 Aircross will grow in size and will come with new engine options.

The all-new Citroen C3 Aircross will come with a more mature exterior design. The latest renderings reveal that the new C3 Aircross could receive prominent plastic cladding at the front, which will give it a more rugged SUV appeal. It gets aluminum style skid plates and the Citroen’s color accents on the air dams and fog light bezels. The headlamp setup could share styling with the updated C5 Aircross merging with the illuminated grille.

Similar to the new C3, the all-new Citroen C3 Aircross gets more muscular side profile. The rendering shows that the new model will get the floating roof design with black-painted pillars and large glass areas. It has dual-tone alloy wheels, roof rails, and a thicker plastic cladding all-around the body.

The cabin of the all-new Citroen C3 Aircross will share similarities with the new C4 X crossover and the facelifted C5 Aircross SUV. The SUV will have a new touchscreen infotainment system, a small digital instrument console and an optional HUD or head-up display. The SUV will have colourful accents all the interior, a range of storage compartments and more comfortable seats.

The next-gen C3 Aircross will be based on the new CMP/eCMP platform that underpins the Peugeot 2008, Opel Mokka, and DS 3 Crossback, and the larger Citroen C4 and C4 X. The new model will grow in size and is expected to measure close to 4.3 meters in length (Current Model is 4.15 meters long). The increase in size will help Citroen to create more space for passengers and their luggage.

The CMP / eCMP architecture is compatible with both ICE and BEV powertrains. It is expected to be powered by a 1.2-litre PureTech petrol with addition of a mild hybrid system, which should help in offer higher efficiency and reduced CO2 emissions. The vehicle will also get a full electric model, which is likely to get a single electric motor producing 134bhp and a 50kWh lithium-ion battery pack. It could also get an affordable EV variant with 99bhp of power.
