After Triumph Speed 400, Bajaj To Launch Biggest Pulsar In 2023-24

Bajaj Auto has recently introduced two significant motorcycles – the new Triumph Speed 400 and the new KTM 390 Duke. The first product from Bajaj-Triumph partnership has received an overwhelming response from buyers with first 10,000 units booked within couple of days. The company is planning to launch multiple new motorcycles in the country before the end of this financial year.

Speaking to CNBC TV, Rajiv Bajaj said that the company could introduce a new 100cc CNG bike. He requested Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman to bring down goods and service tax (GST) on CNG vehicles to 18 percent. The company also aims to pgrade the Pulsar lineup. Moreover, Rajiv Bajaj said that the “biggest ever Pulsar” will arrive this financial year.

On the new Pulsars, Rajiv Bajaj said, “Between now and the end of the financial year, we will introduce six significant upgrades or new Pulsars aimed at enhancing our share in the mid-segment from 30 percent to as much as it can rise,”

With the introduction of new range of Pulsars, Bajaj aims to take the No.1 spot in the segment. He further said that the company aims to introduce the biggest ever Pulsar within this financial year. Bajaj currently accounts for 30 percent of total sales in the mid-market, 125-200cc range. The company is also exploring opportunities in the premium motorcycle segment, with price value of around Rs 1.7 lakh.

Rajiv Bajaj also said that the company has exciting plans for its electric scooter, Chetak. He confirms that more Chetak products would be launched after the festive season. Bajaj plans to produce around 10,000 Chetak units during festive season. The production capacity will be increased to 15,000 – 20,000 units per month by the end of the financial year.

While details about the new Pulsar is yet to be revealed, we expect it could be the new Pulsar RS400 or NS400 with a new 400cc engine. The new Pulsar could share the powertrain with Triumph’s Speed 400 or the Dominar 400.
